It seems like every month brings a new auto show and a new variety of brand-new vehicles to admire from afar through press photographs. With the New York International Auto Show coming up in April, manufacturers are starting to reveal the models they’ll be bringing to the event. Honda recently revealed they, too, have a few new amazing models to debut, which we at Union Park Honda are excited to see. The New York International Auto show will mark the debut of two expansions of the Honda Clarity lineup.
The two Clarity models making an appearance in New York are a plug-in hybrid and an electric vehicle. One Honda Clarity vehicle is already sold by the company–a fuel cell vehicle that received a limited release. But, the appearance of two more variants of the same nameplate signals Honda’s desire to expand their offerings in the green car segment. It has been announced that the electric model will offer three different powertrain options, and there will also be a premium sedan offering among the Clarity’s trims.
Honda claims the new additions to the Honda Clarity lineup will offer more spacious options among electric cars and hybrids, filling a niche for affordable five-passenger electric vehicles. According to Honda, the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid model joins a hyper-efficient gasoline-hybrid extended range setting and an all-electric driving range rating in upwards of 40 miles; this model will roll out in all 50 states.
